Bond the gasket to the segment
On precast tunnel rings, Taftbond HM105NF bonds the EPDM sealing gasket to the concrete segment, sealing the joint between rings.
High bond on concrete and rubber
It holds the gasket against ground-water pressure and the movement between rings, with the strong bond of the HM105 contact adhesive.

Non-flammable near hot work
Because it is non-flammable, HM105NF can be used in bays exposed to welding sparks, cutting and open flame without the fire risk of a normal contact adhesive.
Same bond, no flash hazard
It keeps the bonding strength of the HM105 contact adhesive while removing the flammable-solvent flash hazard on hot-work sites.

Frequently asked questions
HM105NF is a specialist polychloroprene contact adhesive whose non-flammable performance was independently tested by SETSCO Services Pte Ltd. Under direct naked-flame torching it did not ignite (Ref BP-8500276388/SL, 28 August 2023).
It is built for tunnelling and civil infrastructure, where EPDM gaskets are bonded to precast concrete tunnel segments, and for fire-sensitive transportation and hot-work manufacturing zones.
HM105NF bonds concrete, metal, rubber, timber and laminates, per the Vitrochem TDS. It is built for bonding EPDM rubber gaskets to precast concrete and similar fire-sensitive structural work.
HM105NF is tack-free in about 10 to 15 minutes at 30 C. It reaches roughly 80% of its bond strength in about 2 hours, 90% in about 4 hours and full cure in 6 hours, per the Vitrochem TDS.
On a stainless-steel overlap-shear joint, HM105NF builds from 16.33 kGF at 2 hours to 18.27 kGF at 4 hours, 20.70 kGF at 6 hours and 21.00 kGF at 24 hours, per the Vitrochem TDS, so strength keeps rising as it cures.
HM105NF has a flash point of 50 C, tested to ASTM D3828-18a, per the Vitrochem TDS. Together with its certified non-flammable performance, this is why it is chosen for work near welding sparks and open flame.
Apply an even coat to both surfaces, allow it to tack off for about 10 to 15 minutes, then bond under firm pressure, per the Vitrochem TDS. Clean, dry surfaces free of dust, oil and grease give the best bond.
HM105NF is supplied in a 5.5 kg tin and has a 12-month shelf life when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, per the Vitrochem TDS.
