Frequently asked questions
Yes. HM232ST does not attack Styrofoam, which makes it suitable for bonding foam to panels and laminates where solvent-based adhesives would melt the foam.
No. It is not recommended for exterior use or for parts intended for permanent submersion in water.
HM232ST bonds plastic, wood, metal and composite substrates, per the Vitrochem TDS. Its clear finish suits visible bond lines where a coloured adhesive would show.
HM232ST is applied by brush or roller. Spread a moderate, even coat on both surfaces with at least 90% coverage, let it tack off, then align the parts and bond with firm pressure from the centre outward, per the Vitrochem TDS.
HM232ST is tack-free in 5 to 10 minutes at 25 C and has an open time of about 30 minutes, per the Vitrochem TDS. Bond within the open time, after the coat has tacked off.
The cured bond has good resistance to water, detergent and soap solutions, oils and grease, per the Vitrochem TDS, alongside good heat and ageing resistance.
HM232ST is a clear, transparent liquid with a viscosity of 150 to 250 cps measured on a Brookfield viscometer, per the Vitrochem TDS. The clear colour keeps the glue line discreet.
HM232ST is supplied in 1 gallon and 18 litre packs and has a 12-month shelf life when stored at around 25 C in a cool, dry place.
