Taftlock 43 is a medium-strength anaerobic threadlocker for metal fasteners 6 to 20 mm, including the less active surfaces of stainless steel and plated parts where many threadlockers cure slowly. The blue liquid (2250 cps) cures between close-fitting threads in the absence of air to lock and seal nuts, bolts and studs against vibration, yet still allows removal with hand tools. It holds from -55 C to +150 C, reaches handling strength in 10 to 12 minutes and full cure in 24 hours.

Compliance
RoHS statements and Safety Data Sheets for this product are available on request. Contact the MightyLoc team and we will send the current documents.
Exposed thread shank
Apply to the exposed thread shank before assembly; the anaerobic film cures in the gap between close-fitting metal surfaces once the fastener is tightened.
Fill the engaged threads
Apply to the bolt threads in sufficient quantity to fill the engaged threads. This locks the threaded fastener and seals the joint against loosening under vibration.
Lock and seal
Apply along the bolt threads, filling them fully so the joint both locks and seals once assembled. The sealed threads help keep moisture and other liquids out.

Frequently asked questions
Taftlock 43 is a medium-strength anaerobic threadlocker that locks and seals nuts, screws and studs on fasteners between 6 and 20 mm in diameter. Based on a blue dimethacrylate ester, it suits automotive, motorcycle and machinery joints that need a secure hold yet can still be removed with hand tools during servicing.
Taftlock 43 is formulated for fasteners between 6 and 20 mm in diameter, covering the medium range between low-strength Taftlock 22 (up to 6 mm) and high-strength Taftlock 71 (up to 25 mm). It works well on less active metals such as stainless steel and plated parts where many threadlockers cure slowly.
Taftlock 43 develops a breakaway torque of 20 N.m (about 204 kgf/cm) and a prevail torque of 7 N.m on M10 steel nuts and bolts per ISO 10964, with a compressive shear strength above 8 N/mm2 (82 kgf/cm2) per ISO 10123. That gives a firm hold against vibration while still allowing removal with standard tools.
Taftlock 43 reaches handling strength in 10 to 12 minutes on clean steel at room temperature, develops functional strength in 1 to 3 hours, and reaches full cure in 24 hours. The fast handling time supports assembly-line throughput, but leave the joint undisturbed until functional strength before applying load.
Yes. Taftlock 43 is specifically suited to less active metals such as stainless steel and plated parts, which can slow the cure of some anaerobic threadlockers. For best results, ensure the threads are dry, clean and free of oil before applying, since Taftlock 43 performs best in thin bond gaps between close-fitting metal threads.
Taftlock 43 has a service temperature range of -55 C to +150 C and resists engine oils, coolants, gases, hydrocarbons and brake fluids. Chemical-resistance testing shows it retains full strength in motor oil at 125 C over 1,000 hours, with high retention in water/glycol, making it suited to automotive and engine assemblies.
Taftlock 43 is a blue liquid with a viscosity of 2,250 cps at 25 C (Brookfield RVT, spindle 3 at 20 rpm) and a specific gravity of 1.07. The higher viscosity compared with Taftlock 22 helps it stay on larger threads, and the blue colour distinguishes it from purple Taftlock 22 and red Taftlock 71.
Taftlock 43 has a shelf life of 2 years when stored unopened in a cool, dry place between 8 C and 25 C. Wipe the bottle tip clean after use, and do not pour unused product back into the bottle, since contamination can affect cure performance.
