Strong. Flexible. Durable
Acrylic Foam Tape
AFT™ is a specialty double-coated acrylic adhesive foam tape aka "High Bond Tape" that is designed for high-performance bonding applications. These highly versatile tapes are applicable in a wide range of applications in different temperatures and industrial sectors.
AFT™ tapes are able to resist extreme temperatures of between -40°C to 150°C (short-term) which makes them most suitable for outdoor use. Due to its visco-elastic property and closed cell structure, it is able to absorb impact and provides dampening function. It is able to repel moisture and water when used in outdoor and high-stress load applications.
These AFT™ tapes are especially suitable for bonding to materials like metals, glass, and plastics (except PP, PE, Teflon, and Silicone). It is widely used for applications that include automotive, construction, metal fabrication, escalators, lift doors, signage, and electronics.
Grey Foam Tape Series

Technical Data Sheets
Directions
Surface Treatment
- Wipe off contaminants of oil, grimes, and dust from adherend surfaces.
- Smooth surfaces should be lightly abraded with fine abrasive paper to create hairline scratches.
- Wipe surfaces clean with IPA mixed with water (50/50 ratio)
- Leave it to dry before applying the adhesive tape.
- For difficult-to-bond materials, use a suitable Primer to promote adhesion.
Application Method
- Apply the tape starting from one end of the substrate making sure that no air is trapped during this process to the end.
- Use a squeegee or J-roller and run over the entire length of the tape with hand pressure.
- Remove the PE tape liner to expose the foam tape and place it on the opposite side of the bonding substrate.
- Only apply press-down pressure when the interface substrates are in the correct position.
- Use a mallet or hand pressure to ensure contact pressure is sustained throughout the length of the bonding substrates.
- Allow the tape to set and reach optimum strength after 72 hours.
Storage & Handling Methods
- Do not store tapes above 40°C environment.
- Keep tapes in a clean and dust-free environment.
- Keep away from direct sunlight contact.
- Always store tape in a plastic wrapper when not in use.
- Do not let the tape sit on another tape without any release liner dividing it.
White Foam Tape Series
AFT™ White Foam Tape Series are double-coated acrylic foam tape that provides high overlap shear and structural strength for bonding to materials, like metals, plastics, and glass. This visco-elastic, closed-cell foam tape has good dampening and all-weather resistance properties when applied for outdoor bonding applications. Unlike using screws, the stress load is evenly distributed along the length of the bonding. It presents good aesthetic appeal with no unsightly rivets being visible on the front facade when used for panel bonding. The range of white foam tapes is AFT 2064WF & AFT 2120WF.

Clear Foam Tape Series
AFT™ Clear Foam Tape Series is a clear acrylic adhesive extrusion that has characteristics similar to colored acrylic tapes. This extremely tacky clear tape is able to bond to most substrates, especially for glass and clear acrylic and plastics almost instantly upon contact. It has good UV resistance and the ability to withstand impact and stress load when used for bonding outdoor signages. Due to its clarity, AFT 3100CF is well suited for bonding transparent parts for aesthetic appeal.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Acrylic Foam Tape?
Acrylic Foam Tape (AFT) is a double-sided tape that is composed of acrylic adhesive that is either coated to the foam (normally specialised material) or by way of extrusion to form the shape.
How does it compare to regular foam tape?
The structure of acrylic foam tape is primarily made from a closed-cell foam material that will repel moisture and water during application. The flexibility and high-density properties of acrylic foam tape are clearly a class above regular foam tape when come to heavy load bonding. For regular PP, PE, or PU foam tapes, the structure of it is open-celled and lower in density which makes it unsuitable for load-bearing application.
What Makes Acrylic Foam Tape Unique?
Unlike typical PE foam tape where adhesive is coated thinly on both sides of the foam much like a sandwich structure with bonding strength pale in comparison with acrylic foam tape. The permanently flexible acrylic foam tape is able to conform to curves and the adhesive is able to anchor to the surface of the substrates strongly. Due to its high-density property, it can withstand high-stress loads without any cause for concern of foam tearing issues.
What Are The Advantages of Acrylic Foam Tape?
- Instant adhesion when 2 parts are in contact.
- Flexible and provides almost permanent bonding.
- High sealing and bonding strength.
- Resistance to outdoor weather conditions.
- Able to conform to surface contour.
- Withstand high temperatures up to 90°C
