Taftspray™ 78 Spray Adhesive, is a multipurpose sprayable adhesive made from synthetic-based elastomer that provides exceptional bonding strength for lightweight materials like paper, aluminum foil, cork, and styrene foam. It is formulated to provide a controlled spray pattern and lower misting during spraying. It can be sprayed onto one or double-sided of the materials and it will dry clear without any bleeding through or causing wrinkling on the paper. With its polystyrene foam safe property, it will not cause any melting or dent to the surface when sprayed upon. Directions

  • Clean and wipe the surfaces of bonding materials from dust and dirt.
  • Make sure there is no oil or grease on surfaces before spraying.
  • Use the spray adhesive in a well-ventilated area and cover tables or work areas with protective paper to prevent glue staining.
  • If possible, wear a mask during use.
  • Hold the can in an upright position, and point the spray valve in the direction of the bonding substrates. Maintain a distance of between 15-20 cm during spraying.
  • Spray the adhesive evenly on one or both sides of the bonding surfaces.
  • Leave the sprayed surface to dry for about 2-3 minutes for the solvent to totally vaporised before pressing the surfaces together with a hand or roller pressure.
  • After use, invert the can upside down and give it a quick purge to clear any blockage that may occur. Wipe the spray valve clean with some cleaning solvents before replacing the cap for storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Spray adhesive is a rubber-based adhesive pressurized in a metal can that will spray to a mist by way of the built-in propellent when the knob is depressed. It will release fine adhesive particles mist evenly on the bonding surfaces that will dry within minutes when exposed to the environment.

Unlike conventional sprayable adhesive, aerosol-based spray adhesive is conveniently packed in a pressurized metal can for ease of use and can be applied on most materials at any time and location. It is a go-to adhesive product when it comes to bonding lightweight materials like, paper, cork, felt, rubber, and some plastics as it dries quickly and bonds strongly.

Spray adhesive is generally applicable to most materials like, paper, cork, wood, cardboard, some plastics and fabric. For Taftspray™ 78, it is also recommended for use on polystyrene foam as the solvent will not dissolve the bonding surface.

Yes & no as it all depends on the application requirement and the stress load involved in the final bonding process. For lightweight materials, like paper, cardboard, or leather, using spray adhesive Taftspray 78 is highly recommended due to the adhesive properties that allow easy spray-on with consistency, fast tack-free time, and high bond strength development when in contact after spraying and drying.
